We have
access
to this
bank &
signs
will be
erected
very
soon to
indicate
the
boundary.
This
stretch
has not
been
fished
(as far
as we
know)
for some
years so
expect
some
hungry
fish. I
saw many
fish
topping
when I
went to
view it
& some
were a
decent
size so
tackle
up for
some big
Bream,
Chub,
etc.
From
Scunthorpe
take A18
to
Crowle
Junction,
turn
Left
onto
A161
continue
towards
Epworth,
then
Haxey
and
Graiselound
until
you
reach
Misterton.
Once in
the
village
look for
the
Church
and turn
right
before
it onto
Church
Street,
you will
see Red
Hart pub
on
right;
the road
bears
left
then
right.
(you
will see
a red
box on a
post)
Then
turn
right
into
Carr
Lane
this
will in
200
yards
lead to
Carnley
Road on
the
right,
not much
more
than a
single
farm
track
with
potholes!
Continue
up here
for 2
miles.
You will
enter a
wooded
farm
complex.
2 houses
set back
a little
& just
past
them
turn
right
down the
side of
big
steel
shed,
the road
takes
you
though
quite a
few old
farm
buildings,
old Pig
Farrowing
pens,
these
were
apparently
prison
farm
buildings.
This
leads to
steel
gate &
flood
bank.
Please
close
the gate
after
entering.
There is
plenty
of
parking
space
over the
flood
bank so
please
park
sensibly
not to
block
access
for any
farm
vehicles.
Once
parked,
a short
walk
leads to
quite a
steep
bank and
the
ground
is
heavily
trampled
by
horses
so mind
your
footing.
On our
visit
there
were
many
horses
roaming
around &
2 even
stopped
to look
inside
my van.
They are
all very
good
natured
& quite
keen on
apples &
Imperial
Mints.
Please
take
your
time
when
passing
the
horses
on the
track &
give
them
respect.
Thanks
